Yvette Rivers Speaks on Project ManagementNovember 2011
A sold-out crowd for the Reston Luncheon Series of the Project Management Institute- Washington, DC Chapter was treated to an entertaining and informative presentation by Cirdan Group’s Yvette Rivers, PMP. Speaking at the November 16th event, Yvette’s presentation entitled “Disaster Averted! Avoiding Common Project Management Pitfalls” condensed knowledge from her extensive experience in independent assessments of large scale projects into 10 common mistakes to avoid for successful project outcomes. Framing her topic around Project Managers as “Super Heroes” the talk and slide show presentation provided attendees with an enjoyable and concise package of advice and strategies on avoiding the most common mistakes that produce the most significant impact to project success. Cirdan Group Hires Human Resources ManagerOctober 2011
Joanne Vatz, President of Cirdan Group, today announced that Sharra McNamara has accepted the position of Human Resources Manager with Cirdan Group. Sharra comes to Cirdan from North Carolina where she held a similar position with a major law firm, with responsibilities for all internal HR functions including full-cycle talent management, employee relations, benefits management and compliance.
“We are very pleased to have Sharra join our management team. Her recent hire is an investment in our company’s most important asset – our consultants,” stated Ms. Vatz.
Sharra is a certified Professional in Human Resources (PHR), a CAI-certified Manager of Human Resources and a member of the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM). She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from The State University of New York at Potsdam. She will be based in the Columbia, MD office.

New location houses Election Services practice
Cirdan Group, Inc. of Timonium, Maryland announces the opening of its second facility in Columbia, Maryland. Located at 7067 Columbia Gateway Drive, the new offices will be the primary location for Cirdan Group’s Election Services practice and Business Development operations, along with other customer support activities. The facility features an extensive state-of-the-art training area and will accommodate both field-deployed consultants as well as visiting partners. “Our new offices will provide increased services, capacity, and easy access for our strategic customers in the mid-Atlantic region,” Joanne Vatz, Cirdan Group CEO, explained. “We will continue to run our corporate and business operations from the current site in Timonium.”

Cirdan Group heads north to join Capgemini team on IV&V contract with Commonwealth of PAFebruary 2011
With Cirdan Group as a subcontractor, Capgemini successfully bid on the Pennsylvania Department of General Services RFQ 61000014052 to provide IV&V services and related project management support for the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue’s (PaDOR) Integrated Tax System, a central component of the larger PaDOR Modernization Program. Cirdan Group brings its prior IV&V experience on the Comptroller’s Maryland Integrated Tax System (MITS).
