Yvette Rivers Speaks on Project Management11-17-11
A sold-out crowd for the Reston Luncheon Series of the Project Management Institute- Washington, DC Chapter was treated to an entertaining and informative presentation by Cirdan Group’s Yvette Rivers, PMP. Speaking at the November 16th event, Yvette’s presentation entitled “Disaster Averted! Avoiding Common Project Management Pitfalls” condensed knowledge from her extensive experience in independent assessments of large scale projects into 10 common mistakes to avoid for successful project outcomes. Framing her topic around Project Managers as “Super Heroes” the talk and slide show presentation provided attendees with an enjoyable and concise package of advice and strategies on avoiding the most common mistakes that produce the most significant impact to project success. Ms. Rivers is the Director of the Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) and Project Management practices for Cirdan Group, and is based in the Columbia, MD offices. She has over 13 years of Project Management experience with extensive focus on Program and Project Management, Risk Assessment and Management, and the Quality Control and IV&V areas of Project Performance Improvement. Cirdan Group Hires Human Resources Manager10-17-11
Joanne Vatz, President of Cirdan Group, today announced that Sharra McNamara has accepted the position of Human Resources Manager with Cirdan Group. Sharra comes to Cirdan from North Carolina where she held a similar position with a major law firm, with responsibilities for all internal HR functions including full-cycle talent management, employee relations, benefits management and compliance.
“We are very pleased to have Sharra join our management team. Her recent hire is an investment in our company’s most important asset – our consultants,” stated Ms. Vatz.
Sharra is a certified Professional in Human Resources (PHR), a CAI-certified Manager of Human Resources and a member of the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM). She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from The State University of New York at Potsdam. She will be based in the Columbia, MD office.
